PATCH FLORA – HARDANGER DESIGNS
Hardanger embroidery is a hand technique originating from Norway. It involves satin stitch, cut and drawn threads and woven bars done on evenweave fabric to produce a textured yet airy effect that is unique. Built up in simple steps, it is much easier than the final elaborate effect would suggest!
The designs are sold as digital products in pdf format. Once Patch Flora has been notified of payment by PayPal, the pdf file/s will be emailed to you as an attachment or attachments, usually within 24 hours. Each attachment will contain a list of equipment and materials needed, detailed stitching chart or charts, order of working, illustrated instructions for the stitches used, helpful tips and colour photograph of a worked example.

Spanish Garden Cushion
SPANISH GARDEN CUSHION COVER DESIGN (HSG). Copyright Marilyn Hornby. Finished size 38 cm x 38 cm (15 in x 15 in) approximately. This design has a central satin stitch flower motif surrounded by two layers of cut and drawn panels. These are then worked with woven bars decorated with picots. A satin stitch rope design separates the panels and a small flower motif in each corner echoes the centre. The whole design is reminiscent of lacy Spanish window grilles.
